Savvy Angler Success

Larry had received a gift of a Legends Outdoors trip several months ago from his wife.  A day in April was selected by Larry as he along with son Dan and son-in-law Matt were the anglers for this day out on scenic Lake Wallenpaupack.  The three are avid hunters and fishermen.  They are locals that fish many of the area waterways, but never have caught a striped bass and wanted to put some time in for these elusive fish.  The day was cloudy in the morning with the sun breaking through in the late morning with light winds until around noon.  They trio threw Keitech Baits and hardbaits for their quarry as they understood the limited amount of bites that usually is afforded fishing this way.  They grinded it out as they seined the lake with cast after cast.  Their efforts would surely pay off as they hooked into three striped bass on the day!  They would land two and lose another as they fought the feisty beasts with great care as not to break the line as these fish make some very powerful surges.  The two that were boarded posed for some nice photos before being released and the anglers also caught a smallmouth bass and pickerel during the excursion.  This warm day brought out so much wildlife around the lake and the men enjoyed the sights and sounds along with some tasty sandwiches as they fulfilled the mission they set out for on this beautiful spring day.
