From VA to PA for a Winter Vacay
Chris along with family and friends ventured north from the Virginia area to do some wintertime vacationing at Lake Wallenpaupack. This was not their first winter adventure here and presumably will not be their last. Along with Dan and James, Chris took a day to do some ice-fishing with Legends Outdoors on a frigid day. The high was about 18 degrees and there was a slight breeze to boot. The sun was strong and the skies were blue to help warm the anglers. They did very little jigging on this day as they had quite a bit of action on the tip-ups and did a lot of shuffling from hole to hole. During their trek out on to the ice in the morning they seen some tracks from coyotes and fox that scurry across the ice after dark. The trio had venison jalapeno hot dogs prepared by the staff and some nice beverages. The men caught a bunch of nice perch with several in the 12-14" range and harvested them along with the roe for an evening meal at the cottage where they stayed on the lake. They also caught a bonus smallmouth bass that was returned during the outing. The group had a fantastic vacation around the lake visiting a variety of places and doing different activities. We were glad they were able to join us again in 2022 and look forward to seeing them next winter for their annual winter vacation.
