Generational Jaunt

Dennis along with his son Jason and grandson Duffy were back at it with Legends Outdoors with a summer adventure aboard the pontoon boat.  The game plan was to take some time early on to go for stripers and then proceed to casting.  The men set out with a solid game plan on a hot and sunny late July day.  The rods were put out with live bait and the waiting game was on.  Some conversation rolled off their tongues as the anticipation built waiting for that tell tale strike.  The moment arrived as one of the rods got a vicious hit and soon the hook was set.  The rod buckled and a battle ensued.  There was no doubt what was on the other end as the drag screamed with a sense of urgency.  The fish was played out and worked into the net and a striped bass just under 13# was landed!  The three generations posed for a photo before releasing the fish back into the waters of Lake Wallenpaupack.  The fished about for some more with bait and one of the rods went off as Duffy hooked into a nice smallmouth bass and battled it to the boat.  One of the other rods also received a hit at the end of the battle and the men encouraged him to go for that one also and he would double up as he went back and forth with another nice smallmouth bass.  Those two bass posed for a quick photo and were also released back into the depths of this legendary lake.  The anglers were feeling it on this day indeed!  They would eventually get to some casting with Keitech Baits as they shut down the bait approach.  Dennis also brought along his traditional hoagies from the famous Taylor Deli which the group enjoyed immensely.  The perch bite picked up as they hooked into some good ones and a few more smallmouth bass mixed in.  The anglers seemed to just ignore the heat as they were having so much fun that it hardly fazed them.  All in all they caught a good mess of perch and smallmouth bass and of course the striper.  All gamefish were released and the perch were harvested for a fish fry.  Another great day out for Dennis and his family and we were glad to have them aboard again and look forward to their next adventure with us.
