When a Game Plan Comes Together
Dennis and his friend coach Mike T. were looking to come out of the locker room in the first quarter of the day and go right for the big play to set the tone. So.....with big bait and big hopes they set sail aboard the Legends Outdoors pontoon boat. The day would be a moderate spring day with not much wind and comfortable temperatures. There were mostly blue skies above with some white clouds that passed by every so often to break up the blue canopy. The rods were set and the boat maneuvered around for quite a while without any action. In an instant though, things would change as there was a rod jarring strike from a big fish! Dennis would drive the hook into a heavy fish and the battle in the trenches would ensue. Back and forth with drag ripping runs the beast of the deep ran with healthy surges while Dennis held on and patiently fought the fish knowing that he will eventually tire the fish out. The mighty striped bass put everything it had into this game before the avid angler worked it towards the net and it was brought on board for a photo before being released healthy and vibrant back into the lake. The fish touched 20# and was quite a formidable opponent and a battle that the anglers would remember for years to come. The anglers went back at it for some time without another strike and then shifted gears and went fishing for panfish. Coming out of the halftime break, where they had some amazing hoagies from Taylor Deli along with some cold beverages, the pair of friends got right back at it with Keitech Baits and light line. They would slice and dice apart the areas with their finesse baits and caught some nice big bluegills, a few crappie, rockbass and even a couple nice bonus smallmouth bass thrown in there to put the finishing touches on the day! What a great time out they had talking about sports and the other goings on in the world today along with the beautiful weather, good fishing, good food, and friendship!
