Marble Eye for Mark
Traditionally Mark and his brother John have been coming out with Legends Outdoors in the early-mid June time frame. In 2021 They did a late May excursion to mix it up a bit on a sunny Friday with blue skies and barely a breeze during the outing. The morning was crisp, but quickly turned warm when the glowing sun shone down upon these two avid anglers. The pair went with a topwater and Keitech 1-2 approach for early on, but the fish were slightly hesitant on the topwater although several were caught on it, so Mark would also switched over to Keitech to offer the fish of Lake Wallenpaupack. The men would both continue to have plenty of action landing pickerel, smallmouth bass, bluegill, and rockbass before it slowed noticeably when the sun was high in the sky. Late in the outing Mark would get a strike and set the hook into something that seemed much bigger than the other fish that they had hooked so far. A nice battle then ensued as Mark carefully played the predator on light line and worked the fish towards the net. The fish was netted and Mark would have his personal best walleye at 5.37# and posed for a photo before being returned to the depths of this scenic waterway. The anglers were thrilled with the nice catch and fished on a bit more before they headed out and stopped off on the way home for a traditional lunch together after their Legends Outdoors trip. Mark and John had a great time as always and got to see so much wildlife on the day and have plenty of fishing success. We look forward to seeing them back again in 2022 for their annual trek!
