Legends Outdoors regulars of Dave and Chrissy ventured north again from their Harrisburg area homestead to do some fishing once again with us in Northeast PA. This day would be cold with winds from a NE direction that hovered in the teens for the most part and just found their way wrapping around your glasses and trying to blow away any light and loose items that weren't secure. These elements were very little consequence for these hardcore anglers as bright and early they set out with high hopes on this January day. They walked upon a solid 6-7 inches of ice where they had numerous holes drilled for their outing as tip-ups were set about and and area for jigging with a tent around it was their base camp for the day. The jigging action was good and they had several flags during the day that also produced for this happy couple as there were never any long drought sections of time between bites. Chef Dave as usual brought along some amazing eats as he prepared two meals of venison jalapeno hot dogs and his famous chili and the other of venison sausage patties along with home fries that were mixed with onions and peppers. The warm food with the smell in the air of the outdoor setting truly heightened the senses and really hit the spot for everyone. There were plenty of great conversations and stories of their years of adventures with Legends Outdoors as they fished about. All in all they caught over 50 fish total with 38 panfish being kept for harvesting. They did catch three smallmouth bass that were all released as well as several undersized pickerel on the day. They did also had one really nice fished hooked on a tip-up that took them into some wood and got free leaving the anglers with a thought of "what was on the other end". A great day overall for Dave and Chrissy and we were glad as always to have them out with us and would like to thank them for all the tasty dishes they bring for the guides as well as their loyalty to continuing to come out with us year after year for their outdoor adventures.
