Traditional Trek
Four friends from New Jersey in Mike, Eric, Lou and Mike take an annual ice-fishing trek to Pennsylvania to go out for a day with Legends Outdoors. The year of 2021 would continue the streak and they headed west for their winter journey. The recent cold temperatures had the ice at a solid 10" and the day would start off cloudy then a clear out producing a sunny afternoon. This would also be a frigid day with temperatures hitting only around 20 degrees and a wind that was spiking at over 10 MPH. The four anglers would not take long before running around for numerous flags and having some bend jigging rods as the action was very consistent. They worked up quite an appetite with running around for the many flags and were treated to venison jalapeno hot dogs and also some moose stew which is a Legends Outdoors rarity, but what a treat it was. These guys were catching up on each other's lives and telling many a story during the day and that would continue as they were staying in PA for the night before heading back to their home state the next day. They landed a few nice pickerel that were harvested for some Legends Outdoors pickled pickerel and the sunfish, perch, and bluegill were going to be filleted for a nice fish fry in the upcoming weeks. All in all it was a great day out as they caught dozens of fish and had a great weekend here in the Pocono Region and we look forward to seeing this group on their next journey if it is on the open water with the pontoon boat or back on the ice next calendar year.
