Vigil at Wallenpaupack
Charlie and his brother booked an evening/night trip with Legends Outdoors for late June and had the perfect settings when the day of the trip arrived. They started when it was still light out and they experienced a blitz of dozens and dozens of stripers thrashing on bait in a few areas, but each time they tried to sneak over to the school...just like that they would move in a flash. After dark, several pods of alewives started to spawn and Charlie hooked up with a striper and landed the voracious game fish as shown below. His brother also would hook into one of these fierce battling fish, but it would come undone as it freed itself from the sharp hook. The men pounded and pounded with their lures and would also hook into several smallmouth bass which were all solid specimens as you can see by the sample in the photograph. The bright moon and mild air temperatures made it very comfortable for this duo and a light wind kept it just cool enough to make it virtually a perfect night for fishing. They really enjoyed their night time session and caught some nice fish and we look forward to seeing longtime client Charlie back again along with fishing companions in the near future.
