Cold Front Continuance

Jerry and his son Dominick adventured out on a mid-week outing recently on Lake Wallenpaupack.  The game plan was to pursue striped bass and then on to other species.  Typically Dominick would have been in school on a weekday, but with the Covid-19 situation, he was able to hit the water with his dad and catch up on schooling later in the day.  The day was a chilly one indeed with NNW winds and frigid temperatures testing the mettle of this father/son duo.  They set out Keitech in hand and hopes that were high.  Cast after cast resulted in zero takes from a striper, but Jerry who is a seasoned veteran with Legends Outdoors and with striper fishing knows the patience it takes to get one to commit.  Eventually one struck Dominick's offering and it started to peel drag at an extremely rapid pace that a striper typically does before pulling free of the hook.  An opportunity that was missed, but it did not discourage these men in the least.  They would plod along with stripers in mind only to have that one singular strike from one.  They switched the approach, but still with Keitech Baits and would get into some really nice smallmouth bass, some pickerel, and even a solid perch on the day.  They would have some snacks and talked quite a bit about life and the things that they have been doing.  It was a fun-filled day as they persevered in the tough conditions as the sun that shined down on their shoulders reminding them of warmer days ahead.  We wish Dominick all the best this senior year and congratulate him on his upcoming graduating from high school and also look forward to seeing them back again for another Legends Outdoors Adventure.
