The Last on the First
On the First of March, Charlie and Jack ventured to the NE of PA from much more south in PA to do some ice-fishing with Legends Outdoors. Little did everyone know when this trip was planned that it would be the last one for the 2020 ice-fishing season as that is extremely rare as the mild temperatures made the conditions unsafe shortly after this trip. The day out for this returning duo from last year was windy and cold with the wind chill in the teens as the winter was wanting to cling on for at least one more day before the upcoming spring would start to take hold soon. They jigged and used tip-ups on the Wayne County Lake as they tried to entice the fish that lurk below under the frozen canopy. The jigging was sparse, but still offered some action while the tip-ups provided most of the bites for the anglers. The high blue skies reflecting off the snow covered lake made sunglasses a key component on this outing. The venison stew that was slowly warmed was a welcoming meal on a bitter day like this as Charlie and Jack hauled in mostly perch including a jumbo 13" specimen as well as a few pickerel that were mostly on the undersized category and a couple bluegill, sunfish, and largemouth bass to round out the catches for the day. A fun time was had and we look forward to seeing them back again for their annual outing in the winter of 2021.
