King Crappie Crowns Century Mark
When Vincent, Vincenzo, Matt and Lucas booked a trip with Legends Outdoors for ice-fishing, they had envisioned trying this sport for the first time and getting a taste of what ice-fishing was about as they are familiar with salt water fishing. The New York residents arrived the night before and stayed at a nice locale in Honesdale in anticipation of the day. They got what can be described as a perfect conditions day for their outing.....no wind, mid 30's, with overcast skies. The Pennsylvania Lake had a myriad of tip-ups and holes for jigging while a grill stood amidst them all marking the center of camp where they set up for the day. The jigging poles were getting quite a bit of a work out as they panfish were voracious during the day as the set of four anglers pulled out panfish after panfish onto the frozen lake. The flags were also flying as the liveliness of the shiners were just too much for the hungry fish to take as they kept the anglers running all over the place to attend to the tip-ups. The smell of venison breakfast sausage wafted through the air amidst all the commotion and was a good started for the group and then later on was followed up with venison jalapeno hot dogs to round out the fresh cooked meals. The excitement and action was all during the day as they eclipsed the 100 mark of fish caught including three nice largemouth bass that were released back into the lake. The icing on the cake was a giant 15 1/2" crappie caught jigging that posed for a nice photo. Between the pickerel, sunfish, bluegill, perch, bass, and crappie...this was quite a day for these first timers with Legends Outdoors/ice-fishing as the entire experience of the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all!
