Birthday on Ice

While many people are blowing out candles and celebrating their birthday at a restaurant or other facility, Joe opted for spending it on a frozen lake in Northeast Pennsylvania fishing.  He along with long time friend Wild Bill once again were back at it together on this their first hard water adventure of 2020.  With about a solid 6" of ice these two anglers jigged and monitored the tip-ups on a serene day.  There was not even a hint of wind while the skies were almost totally blue with just a few peaks of clouds passing by occasionally.  Bill and Joe had almost constant jigging action throughout the trip as their rods were bent quite often with perch, sunfish, bluegill, and even a rockbass that joined the party.  They also caught several nice largemouth bass jigging and hauled in some more largemouth bass and chain pickerel on tip-ups during the day.  It surely was a day filled with plenty of bites and they also took some bites of their own as they had some homemade venison sausage during their adventure to satiate their hunger.  All toll they caught around 75 fish with about a dozen being bass that were all released while they kept a few pickerel and some panfish for harvesting.  A very Happy Birthday to Joe and we look forward to seeing these best of friends out again very soon for another Legends Outdoors Adventure.
