Frigid Fall Fest

Legends Outdoors Regulars of Steve and Steve Jr. ventured west again from the neighboring state of New Jersey for a November day out on Lake Wallenpaupack.  We had just had a severe cold front hit and the temperatures had plummeted to that of January type days thus resulting in quickly dropping water temps also.  The low just had been in the teens two days prior and with the high in the 30's projected today, this father and son duo were bundled up with thermals and heat packs as they were prepared. They don't only love to fish, but they are avid hunters and used to the elements.  November typically is not a numbers time, but a good time to get quality and this day stayed true to that notion.  Steve Sr. hooked up with a big smallmouth right out of the gates and boated it for a photo before releasing it getting this pair started out in a positive fashion.  They traversed about the lake flinging hardware as Keitech wasn't the key on this day, but the hardware was.  They kept at it as the SSW wind of a moderate speed made the air that much more nippy, but the spaced out strikes from smallmouth and largemouth bass that they had kept them on their toes.  All in all they compiled about twelve strikes and landed in the ballpark of nine nice bass.  Steve and Steve enjoy this lake so much that they have been looking at properties to have a home here so they can fish it even more than they have been.  We wish them the best with their search and hope they enjoy the remainder of the hunting season and we shall see them back again in 2020.
