Although Pennsylvania was the 2nd state to become a part of the United States, it was number 49 for Paul who was on a mission to catch a fish in all 50 states. The Texas resident was in the field of forestry and lumber and retired in 2017 from that industry. He has been on this quest for well over a year now and has went out with guides in each state to pursue this personal goal. Staying at nearby Twin Rocks along the lake, Paul had a short distance to travel for his outing on scenic Lake Wallenpaupack. The day was cold with some moderate winds that maybe topped out at 10 MPH during the outing that also had cloudy pre-front conditions. Paul was cozy in a nice tent and was able to watch the tip-ups that sat out in the cold while he stayed warm and jigged up a nice bunch of fish. He had plenty of action on both the rod and the flags as he caught about two dozen fish or so with three nice smallmouth bass, several big pickerel and a pile of perch, bluegill and sunfish with some hefty ones being in the mix. He also jigged up a golden shiner on this day and this was his first legal sized pickerel on his "50 State Adventure" thus far with just Florida remaining on his list. Paul learned a alot about Lake Wallenpaupack and Legends Outdoors while sharing stories and having some fresh cooked venison and pickled pickerel out on the ice to hit the spot on a chilly day. We wish Paul the best to fulfill his goal when he gets to Florida and a safe trip back to Texas.
