Owen's Day

Virginia residents Micah and his son Owen took a winter family vacation to the Poconos in February.  The family had a few items on their agenda including snow tubing and ice-fishing at the request of Owen.  Owen has been getting excellent grades in school, and was treated to the ice-fishing trip as part of recognizing his achievements by his parents. Owen had seen many videos on the internet and read much about it, so was eagerly awaiting the opportunity to try the sport.  The day arrived and with it, very warm temperatures for this time of the year along with cloud cover and a very light breeze that whisked ever so slightly across the nine inches of ice that covered Gouldsboro State Park.  The father and son duo were educated by the Legends Outdoors staff on the way to handle a jigging rod and attend to a tip-up when a flag popped up. When the opportunities arose, these two did very well by hauling in about a dozen pickerel while enjoying this memorable father and son outing.
