Genesis of 2018 Open Water

Early ice off means early open water fishing and that is exactly what returning clients JoJo and Chris did this late February.  Their father George usually accompanies them on the water, but today these young anglers kicked off the Legends Outdoors 2018 open water season sans dad.  The day was overcast, rainy, cold, and calm.  It was the kind of day that gripping the reel at times was an accomplishment in itself as the air temperatures were in the high 30's to low 40's.  The desire to get out on the water and pursue the Lake Wallenpaupack fish would override any physical challenge for the anglers as it was determination and finesse fishing at its finest.  These boys would have a really good day steadily picking away one after another throughout the outing and accumulated numbers well into the teens, and solid ones at that.  Their catch consisted of some really nice brown trout, pickerel, suckers, fallfish and perch.  We at Legends Outdoors look forward to seeing George, JoJo, and Chris again in the near future for some more Lake Wallenpaupack action.
