Three Days and One Night Delight

Chef Dave went on a fishing barrage in June by getting out three straight day trips with an evening river trip sandwiched in between the pontoon boat outings.  The three pontoon boat trips were on scenic Lake Wallenpaupack and the catfish trip was on the Susquehanna River.  The family trip was day one on a hot and sunny day with wife and two children aboard for the day out on the lake.  Dave whipped up one of his classic lunches on this day by serving a maple roasted turkey sandwich with homemade three pepper jam accompanied by bacon, lettuce and tomato.  This was topped off with chipotle mayo on a tasty bun.  The side dish for this meal was lemon basil herb pasta salad.  Day two seen Gary and Dave head out on the pontoon boat for some lake action and they would continue the use of Keitech Baits and some topwater to entice the fish of this scenic waterway.  They had music playing and plenty of great conversations on another hot and humid day. The meal for this day was fish wraps made with homemade jalapeno pineapple  & peach salsa with a side dish of four-bean salad which was also prepared by Chef Dave.  Gary and Dave headed out on the river that evening for catfish and had good success.  They would have 13 strikes and landed eight of them and a few smallmouth bass during their evening out.  Day three rolled around and Dave & Gary headed out on Wallenpaupack again for the final leg of the journey.  The day was extremely hot and humid as the men headed back out on the water.  They used the Keitech and topwater approach again as the water was slick and air was thick.  They would also have a good quality lunch on this day of jalapeno cheese venison hot dogs and a side dish of redskin & dill potato salad. The clouds rolled in and the heavy rain approached so they headed back to the dock to wait out the downpour as it came down with quite a ferocity. They waited it out for quite some time and even got some pictures of the effects of the heavy rains.  Dave and Gary had another fun and successful day out on this legendary Wayne County Lake.    All in all they caught on this four part session....pickerel, perch, bluegill, rockbass, channel catfish, smallmouth and largemouth bass.  Some of the panfish and catfish were harvested while all the bass were released.  Dave will be back again sometime later this year and we look forward to his return for another outdoor adventure.
