Battling a Big Brown
Rocky and his neighbor Vinny who both have properties at Lake Wallenpaupack were at the lake prepping their houses for the spring and planned to get out for a day with Legends Outdoors. Rocky has been out with the fishing guide service before, but this would be the maiden voyage for Vinny. Rocky is persistent in hunting big fish and has had great prior success in the past. Their spring day would be a crisp day with light winds and a clear blue canopy overhead all day. The water was just under 50 degrees as these pair of anglers hammered away in search for "the big bite". Their efforts would surely be rewarded on this day as Rocky would get a vicious strike and a long battle would then ensue. Back and forth the fish went with speed and power before revealing that it was a big brown trout on the end of the line. Rocky played it out and into the net for his first Lake Wallenpaupack brown trout in 20+ years of being a resident here. Wow what a nice fish that weighed in at 7.1#! The anglers bookend that monster catch with a few nice smallmouth, a largemouth and pickerel mixed in. What a beautiful serene day out on the water having some snacks, sharing in stories, and pursuing the giants of Lake Wallenpaupack. We are glad Vinny was able to get out with us and it was a pleasure to once again have Rocky aboard once again for another outdoor adventure.
