Finesse or Not to Finesse?

Legends Outdoors regular in Alex took an April adventure with his wife Larissa on a brisk spring day.  They had a nice dinner the evening before and got well rested for a day of fishing on this scenic waterway.  Alex would as usual try his big swimbaits and glide baits to entice big smallmouth bass or northern pike as well as other gamefish while Larissa would finesse her way making for two very contrasting approaches.  Each day and location brings about it's unique set of circumstances and a blanket approach is not typically the answer for any given waterway.  The calm morning yielded to a windy blue skied day making it chilly as the wind off the cold waters put a chill through the anglers.  Alex would rotate and switch his bigger baits while Larissa stayed tried and true to her Keitech offerings.  She would slowly start amassing a solid day of perch and a few solid smallmouth bass mixed in as the day wore on.  Alex would have a few nice smallmouth bass follow his massive offerings in and one of them opted for Larissa's Keitech instead as it got closer to the boat as that is not uncommon with  this type of fishing.  They snacked in-between the different locations fished and soaked up the sights and sounds of this bright spring day with numerous water fowl inhabiting the lake.  Alex would eventually move to finesse tactics as the pike and bass would not cooperate into taking any of his offerings.  He would manage a few bass and perch in the later half of the day to break the ice.  This was a great mini-vacation away from their hectic/busy lives in Long Island to breathe the fresh air and have some time away together out on the water.  We look forward to seeing Alex again later in the year as he has a few more dates scheduled and we at Legends Outdoors would like thank him and his fishing partners for their continued loyalty to our service.
