Cornucopia of Crappie
Chef Dave is a long time Legends Outdoors client and avid angler to say the least. He and his family went out on a Mid-November day in search for some fall crappies and fall crappies they did find! The cold, overcast, and windy November day was the setting for this crappie hunt. After a few spots and a few smaller ones were caught, the horn of plenty was found and the bites from these slab calico were plentiful on the Keitech Baits that was presented to them. The deep water and wind often made the bites hard to detect, but boy oh boy were they feeding up for the winter! With the action hot and heavy the anglers took an abbreviated time to snack on some wild boar that was very tasty in the chilly air. The day would eventually wind down and the livewell was loaded with jumbo crappies for Chef Dave to do some filleting with as he creates some really good fish meals indeed with fresh caught fish such as this. With well over 60-70 fish caught on the day, and with many being released there were many crappies in the 12"-14+" taken for harvest as Dave posed below with several of them for your viewing. This was an excellent final trip of the Legends Outdoors 2020 season and were glad to have Chef Dave and his family out for the finality and we look forward to the 2021 campaign and wish everyone a Safe & Happy Holiday Season!
