Carl and Matt 2020 Annual Fishing Trip
Legends Outdoors annuals of the father/son team of Carl and Matt were back at it for another five-day adventure in 2020. The late October time frame seen some drastic weather changes during the five days out for these two men from the state of Virginia. Day #1 was a chilly one with some strong winds and overcast skies as they kicked off their trip. This day they had a great day en route to catching six hybrid striped bass and some smallmouth bass that highlighted the day...wow....what a start! Day #2 was aboard the Legends Outdoors pontoon boat and it would be another chilly day, but not quite as cool as day one. This was the shore lunch day one one of the scenic islands and they were treated to fresh fried fish along with coleslaw, macaroni salad, and some special cupcakes that Matt so much looks forward to. The anglers caught some smallmouth bass and a hefty pickerel to highlight the catches on this day. Day #3 would start to warm and the sun would come out strong in the late morning and the winds would increase during this day while the bite was moderate at best. A big pickerel and a splattering of panfish, largemouth and smallmouth bass highlighted this day's catches. Day #4 the venue changed for the anglers as they went to the Susqehanna River. An overcast and calm morning greeted them as the bites would arrive in the morning at a steady pace as the anglers would start to pile up the smallmouth bass and a few rockbass mixed in on Keitech Baits and a few on topwater mixed in. A couple hours in the day, Matt would set the hook on what would be an epic battle for this veteran angler. The drag would scream and the rod would buckle with that tell-tale sign that he had hooked into a river giant. The battle would go on for some time before the fish was netted and aboard the boat came a 15.91# musky that posed calmly for a picture before being released back into the river. These fish are known as the fish of 10,000 casts and amazingly enough Matt would hook another one later in the day, but this one severed his line when it took a power run and the line raked across its razor sharp teeth. They had a banner day totaling a tad over 50 fish for the day as it was a great day for action. Day #5 seen them go back to Lake Wallenpaupack and finish up on the pontoon boat and do a combo of live bait and Keitech Baits fishing as they basked in the sun of a nice fall day. They would catch some solid smallmouth bass and another striped bass that highlighted the catches of this day. What a great trip for Carl and Matt as they enjoyed their amenities and their days out with Legends Outdoors and we once again would like to thank them for making Legends Outdoors the host of their fishing trip and look forward to seeing them back again in the 2021 season.
