Spring & Summer Sojourns

Dennis came out with Legends Outdoors for a pair of days.  The first time was in June in late spring and the other time was in summer.  In the initial outing he had his son Jeff with him on a sunny spring day with all the trees in full bloom and the shores teaming with wildlife.  This day they would get around the lake throwing Keitech for a variety of fish and planned for a shore lunch.  Dennis is a magician with the grill and can grill up just about anything as he did on this day with venison and other meats.  The smell of the fresh grill cooking on one of the islands of Lake Wallenpaupack was sure a treat as they had a very satiating lunch prepared by Dennis.  They got back out fishing after lunch and continued their search for fish and caught several more for the day compiled of perch, smallmouth bass and pickerel.   What a great all around father/son day for Dennis and Jeff.  The summer outing seen Dennis' friend Jack come along on the voyage as they set out for big fish with live bait.  The calm and overcast day had just the right feel that you knew something good was going to happen.  Happen it did as not long into it a nice brown bullhead struck the offering and was on for a nice battle.  That was landed and it posed for a nice photo.  Their second taker resulted in a smack from a striped bass that took off running as the battle was on.  Back and forth they went for some time as a drag set properly and rod positioning was key.  The beast finally wore down and was netted for a nice photo for Jack and Dennis before being returned back to the depths of Lake Wallenpaupack.  The striper was 33" and 14# in weight.  They fished for quite some time without any more takers and focused the rest of the trip on perch and caught several of them including some solid ones for the fillet board for fried fish meals.  Jack brought along some of his famous hoagies done Cajun Style and made with TLC for the group. They really hit the spot for the group as everyone really enjoyed them.  It was a super comfortable day and they really had a great time out together with much success and we look forward to seeing Dennis and his companions back again in the future for more Legends Outdoors fun.
