The Total Package
Dave and his wife Chrissy are Legends Outdoors diehards and have been out with us on numerous bodies of water in many conditions in several seasons. This trip would be early May of 2020 and would have all the makings of an all around great one. The sun was shining and although there was a nip in the air to start, it would warm quickly making for comfortable conditions. There would be an off an on wind from the NW and also some sections of stained water due to the recent heavy rainfalls, but that by no means would dampen their outing. Mostly throwing the new US19 color Keitechs; Dave and Chrissy fired their offerings around for the fish of Lake Wallenpaupack. The day was alive as the wildlife just teemed from every corner of the woods, in the water, and also via the air. Ducks, deer, squirrels, geese, and the presence of our USA symbol...the bald eagle which Dave got a phenomenal photograph of as shown below. A couple pickerel were caught, some smallmouth bass, and Dave felt the power and strength of a striped bass that peeled drag at will from his ultra lite rod and 4# test and snapped it with ease leaving Dave only to ponder the size it may actually have been on the scales. Amidst the meandering about the lake and fishing, Dave who is a chef by trade treated the guide and themselves with sandwhiches of smoked turkey and provolone with a homemade sundried
tomato and basil pesto. It was accompanied with potato salad was a redskin potato bliss with dill. The nice meal inspired the anglers and a small striped bass would be caught along with a perch and a few other smallmouths before the day would wind down as the spring sun headed west in the sky for the day. We at Legends Outdoors were happy to have Dave and Chrissy back in 2020 and look forward to seeing them again later this year for some more Legends Outdoors Adventures.
