Dave's Double Shift

In early June, returning client Dave along with wife Chrissy headed north for a day/night pair of trips with Legends Outdoors.  First shift started with a steamy, calm, and very sunny day with barely a breeze to be found.  The day would develop into an absolute furious onslaught of action and a tremendous amount of species and quality caught.  Dave and Chrissy peppered Lake Wallenpaupack with Keitech Baits and hooked into a walleye, several largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, pickerel, crappie, perch, bluegill, and rockbass to round out their stupendous catch for the day.  They had some hearty sandwiches, snacks, and beverages in-between the action filled day.  They harvested several of the panfish and pickerel as Dave is an outstanding chef and will prepare them with a very interesting and tasty manner.  The day was an absolute A+ day and it didn't stop there!  They took the 2nd shift off and came back for the night late that evening.  The night shift would be the icing on the cake as they headed out on calm waters during twilight.  The night started slow and all was quiet, but slightly after dark the sound of bait activity was heard at their second isolated spot. Then a short time later, the sound that excites most fishermen.......a large boil on the surface followed by another smack from a hefty fish. Then suddenly there was a sharp pull on the rod and a long battle and Dave reared back with a hearty hookset.  The first fish of the night was landed which was a big walleye over 5#'s.  It was maybe around 10 minutes later that another strike occurred and the rod bent over again and this time the fish tried to outsmart the anglers as it ran toward the boat with lightning speed.  Dave quickly caught up to it, and after a tug-o-war back and forth for quite a long time....the beast was landed and weighed as it was an 18# striped bass!   The night was taking on the makings of an epic evening, and that it would as they kept fishing around for several more hours and wound up hooking another hefty striped bass which gave Dave another ferocious battle before being netted and a few more walleye that were brought in making this overall two-shift trip one that Dave & Chrissy will not forget!
