One of those Days!

There is a saying that we hear so many people utter..."It was just one of those days".  Depending on the context of the statement would dictate it being a positive or negative connotation.  This would be one of the prior as Charlie along with his girlfriend's son Jack had quite a day to remember on Lake Wallenpaupack recently on an early March adventure.  This pair likes fishing, and does much of their fishing on the Schuylkill River for catfish.  Jack wanted to try ice fishing and so they ventured up from the King of Prussia area to take their maiden voyage and try hard water angling.  They had a premier weather day as it stayed above feezing and cloudy the entire day.  The day was intense as they had action consistently all day long!  Amidst the fishing they had a few snacks and for lunch were treated to some wild pork sandwiches with pineapple and BBQ sauce and relish on rolls to even further enhance the total experience.  The day was unique in that this duo hammered the smallmouth bass with a solid dozen being caught on both tip-ups and jigging including Jack catching an absolute winter beast measuring 21"!  They also caught dozens of panfish incuding bluegill and perch while strangely enough never caught one pickerel even though they are one of the most common fish caught through the ice on the outings with the tip-ups.  The smallmouths reigned supreme on this day and took center stage as all of these photos are of different fish and all of the smallmouth bass were released back into the depths of Lake Wallenpaupack.  This was quite an experience for Charlie and Jack as it was an A+ day all the way and we hope to see them again sometime in the near future.
