Ice-Fishing 101

Wild Bill and his friend Joe were back again for another session in some February ice-fishing.  These two were school teachers for many years before retiring and are now able to spend much time together fishing, hunting and trapping.  A foggy Thursday with good temperatures for ice-fishing which were in the low 30's with light to no wind set the stage for this duo.  Although they used tip-ups, they mainly focused on a regiment of jigging for these hard-water fish that patrolled Lake Wallenpaupack.  As they stared at the 8" holes bored into the ice by the Legends Outdoors Staff, their spring bobbers got a heavy workload as the action was steady all day long.  They picked up some really nice perch, several slab bluegills, a few smallmouth bass, and also some pickerel as a few of the gamefish couldn't resist a lively minnow on the tip-ups.  They had some sandwiches, snacks and hot drinks from their thermoses as their calm demeanor played a huge factor as their laser focus helped detect even the most subtle of bites.  Wild Bill and Joe had an absolute blast as usual and we look forward to seeing them in the spring when they will be in a boat on this same legendary lake.
