Forecast: Cloudy with a Variety of Fish

Returning Client John along with his sons and nephew of Tom, Casey and Jake came in from New Jersey for a visit and some fishing at Lake Wallenpaupack.  No strangers to angling, this crew was chomping at the bit to hit the water and enjoy some time on the water.  Starting out the day, the plan was to fish for stripers and that was done for some time without a strike so it was on to the next level of fishing.  This quartet then proceeded to saturate the waters of Lake Wallenpaupack with a variety of Keitech Baits and a bit of crankbaiting on this cool and overcast day with a slight chop.  The action would be consistent with some good quality fish landed on this day.  One angler would get the hot hand, and then another, and it would be that way throughout the outing.  They caught an very wide variety of fish today including smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, perch, walleye, pickerel, bluegill, sunfish, and rockbass which included some hefty smallmouths, slab bluegills and nice size perch including the 14" plus specimen seen below.  There was some good conversation, tasty snacks and plenty of hook setting on this voyage and we look forward to their return for yet another outing.
