Mike and his son Jay are no strangers to getting out on the water with Legends Outdoors, but the spring season is one that they wanted to test the waters on as they have been frequenting the trips in the other seasons. This trip was a gift from Jay to his father Mike as they set out on Lake Wallenpaupack for one of the rare nice days in April thus far. The calm and sunny day was nice to fish in, but the still frigid water temperatures had the fish in a funk and were all over the board in where they were and their behavior pattern. The anglers adapted and fished in many areas and many depths with a varied approach to catch a few crappie, smallmouth bass, perch and pickerel. They once again used Keitech Baits and light line tactics to work up their catch as today was a nice day for quality and Mike was oh so close to putting a cherry on top of the day when he hooked a striped bass on 4# test and battled it for some time before it got him into some wood and broke the line. All in all Jay and Mike had a great day fishing and brought some really tasty hoagies out on the water for everyone to enjoy for lunch and absorbed the beautiful spring day on Lake Wallenpaupack.
