Returning clients Alex & Joe from Long Island, N.Y. headed west for a double dip on a recent weekend and fished two different bodies of water. Day one at Lake Wallenpaupack seen water temps from 41-45 with blue skies a NW breeze and chilly temperatures. These two friends worked a combination of deep water and shallow water tactics to rummage up a handful of really nice smallmouth bass and a pickerel in very tough conditions. It was a day of quality not quantity and they sharpened their deep water skills during their outing. Day two was a trip to the Susquehanna River. Another chilly morning and blue bird skies was the setting once again for this day. The cold and high stained water also brought challenging conditions, but the duo adapted to the conditions and caught nearly a dozen smallmouth bass, a rainbow trout, and a hefty walleye that eclipsed the 24" mark that gave Alex quite a battle. Overall Joe and Alex had a great trip using some new techniques and angling on some unfamiliar bodies of water while enjoying some great conversation, snacks, and sights of Northeast Pennsylvania. We look forward to seeing Alex and Joe again for their next outdoor adventure with Legends Outdoors.
