Philadelphia residents, Carlos and Billy were fired up to get out on the open water of Lake Wallenpaupack as they went out on hard water earlier in the year and had great success. Although the weather was less than ideal with frigid temperatures, windy conditions, and ice still on much of the lake, this duo headed north for some perch fishing. A late morning start under a blue canopy with the sun providing some much needed warmth, these anglers picked and pecked at some jack plump perch in deep water with Keitech Baits and light line. The frigid water never reached 40 degrees and the north wind constantly reminded them that it is still winter, but they kept casting as the adrenaline and homemade pizza helped keep them warm on this blustery day. They steadily accumulated a bite here and a bite there as they really enjoyed their first time ever on a bass boat. When it was all said and done, they had compiled about two dozen perch on this Mid-March day and had a great time while doing so.
