Men on a Mission

Alex and Joe from Long Island, N.Y. are avid anglers and returning clients with Legends Outdoors.  They fish often, but do not have many bodies of water with smallmouth bass in their region so they wanted to potentially get into some smallmouth bass and hopefully hook into a big one.  They went on a mission and traveled for a two day outing on a finger lake in New York and the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania.  They had two very unseasonably warm days for late October and high blue skies and also much higher than average water temperatures.  Day one started off cold and windy, but after a few hours did settle down and merged into a stagnant warm day.  Alex and Joe worked a few different patterns for several hours catching dozens of perch and rockbass and a northern pike before Alex hooked into a monster smallmouth bass that leaped high out of the water during the battle before being worked to the net and landed before posing for a nice photo and being released.  That was just the thing they were looking for and this day was a 50 plus fish day for this duo.  Day two was on the river and it was dead calm and sunny.  Low water and blue skies made conditions less than prime, but they used topwater and drop shotted their way to a catch of over 30 smallmouth bass, rockbass, and a sunfish before they headed back home.  It was a nice outdoor getaway for these two friends as they had a great time fishing two new bodies of water and practicing a variety of techniques.
