Jim & Maria

Veteran angler Jim and his wife Maria came up to Lake Wallenpaupack from their Lancaster area home for a vacation in late August.  They stayed at Silver Birches and did a variety of activities including this day out with Legends Outdoors.  Their day was picture perfect as they were picked up at their dock just after sunrise and headed out fishing.  Jim has years of experience in fishing both with the fly rod and with the spinning rod for trout and a plethora of other fish.  Jim was in for a treat as he was going to engage in a few different techniques he has not done before and they proved very fruitful as Jim caught on and adjusted very well.  He had many strikes and caught a bunch of smallmouth bass on the day with most of them being on the undersized side. The only other species he would land was a sunfish, but the great action from smallmouth bass was exactly what he was looking for.  Maria did not fish and just enjoyed the scenery, fresh air, and conversation as we perused about the lake. The wind would pick up as the morning progressed and their day would eventually come to an end. It was not before learning so much about this very interesting couple and so many tales of their life experiences along with seeing a variety of waterfowl and the bald eagles which inhabit the lake area.   We are glad Jim and Maria enjoyed their stay at Lake Wallenpaupack and hope to see them again in the future for another adventure with Legends Outdoors.
