Singles Day Sojourn

There is a little known holiday known as "Singles Day" and this was a fitting name for the holiday as Alex went on a single adventure on this November outing.  Typically paired up with his friend or father, Alex made the trek from Long Island, NY in search of some cold water giants.  The water was in prime condition in the high 40's, but the day before seen high winds, frigid temperatures, and snow that fell throwing the fish into what would seem a tail spin.  The pristine clear waters were refusing to give up strikes as the NW breeze made it cold on the hands as the air temperature hovered in the low to mid 30's most of the outing.  The sun was out most of the time which helped a bit and as the day wore on the breeze diminished further making it much more comfortable to function.   Alex fished hard and enjoyed a nice hoagie and chips during the outing while sharing some stories and having good conversation.   He stayed with it, hooked and landed two brute smallmouths and and fought them well on light line before they posed for photos and also landed a couple perch before the day ended, closing out a fun day and his fishing season.
