Matty's Marathon

Matty recently took his annual trip out in August with Legends Outdoors.  Matty is a very busy man with managing The Penalty Box along with his other endeavors, and  tries to find the time at least once a year to have a marathon outing on Lake Wallenpaupack.  He got together with Kooch who is out with Legends Outdoors several times per year and went on a striper mission.  They had a sweltering hot and sunny day with hardly a breeze on the water for their outing.  The morning was going by very peaceful and quite......and then the "strike" occurred and Matty was up to the challenge.  The hook was set, the battle was on, back and forth they went like two titans in a wrestling match exchanging blows and giving very little ground.  After Matty tired the striper out and it was netted, the massive hybrid striper posed for a nice photo before being released.  This was a trophy sized hybrid and the anglers were thrilled with the catch.  They continued for more stripers without any takers for a little while and then went and did some casting with Keitech Baits and got about a bakers dozen of perch. These would be filleted and battered and they had a combination of a fresh fish fry and pizza for a very satiating meal during their marathon day out at Lake Wallenpaupack.  Staying right on the lake, they finished up their fishing day and headed back to the cottage to wind down for the evening and reflect on all the fun they had out together and share in some great conversation.  We at Legends Outdoors look forward to seeing Matty and Kooch again when they get together for their next outing.
